As Staff Engineer, you will be providing, via a team of Biometric QA Engineers, the Test Infrastructure, Test Planning and Testing for Biometric Solutions in the HID PACS Business Area.
The qualified candidate will drive test plan development by gathering and documenting test requirements, develop and execute test cases, develop and iterate test procedures, identify testing risks and create mitigation strategies.
You will support sensor and system testing, including installing and configuring hardware and software, and conducting functional testing as a part of test preparation activities.

As our Staff Engineer (Biometrics QA), you will support HID’s success by:

* Contributes to project and product planning discussions.
* Understands how the product under test operates as part of a wider system.
* Plans and scopes interoperability test requirements.
* Able to make decisions regarding the Test Environment.
* Coaches/mentors others at a technical level.
* Able to raise defects with the business and help prioritize them based on severity.
* Able to research, plan and train others within the team.
* Actively contribute to customer escalations.
* Champions TDD methodology and leads stakeholders in its implementation.
* Good understanding of System/Solution testing, interoperability and longer-term stress/reliability testing.
* Implements E-2-E and UX testing of the System/Solution.

* Has latitude for un-reviewed action or decision making, is the de facto technical leader of the Biometrics Quality Assurance team.
Your Experience and Education include:
* Possesses a suitable Degree or equivalent qualification or +7 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge principles, practices, and procedures over a wide range of fields including but not limited to Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Validation, and PACS Systems including Biometric solutions and AWS.
* Prior experience with designing and carrying out device testing, software testing, or other related testing experience.
* Familiarity with software installation and configuration in Windows and Linux environments.
* Ability to install and configure basic computer system hardware components and establish connections to local area networks and back-end processing systems.
* Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications and diagramming flow charts to document test processes and design.
* Experience with SQL DB queries to validate software recording proper data and ensure participant data ingested properly prior to testing.
* Experience in scripting.
* Experience with tracking software development using Jira or other similar programs.
* Experience of Agile and Lean Methodologies.
