The main objective of the Bar Staff (Bartender) role will be to consistently prepare, mix and serve drinks and beverages correctly to either customers directly or through serving staff. Where applicable, you must follow menu specifications and this role is reportable directly to the FOH management team. It is important that this role be met with a passion for excellent service, and you must exceed customers’ needs and expectations.
Key Objectives and Responsibilities
1. The main responsibilities of the Bar Staff will be to take beverage orders from customers or wait staff in a timely manner, and serve drinks as requested, paying extreme attention to detail.
2. In this role you must deliver customer satisfaction by maintaining an exceptional standard of service and professionalism, welcoming customers to the venue to ensure a positive and friendly guest experience for all.
3. Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register.
4. Due to being face-to-face with customers, the bar staff must set high standards of personal presentation and behaviour at all times.
5. A positive attitude must be adopted towards teamwork, contributing to the smooth running of the premises, and interacting productively with other departments.
6. This role is also about passing on knowledge and you must be prepared to work with and set an excellent example for new and existing staff members. This is all part of our commitment to developing our teams within the company.
Operational Duties
1. Prepping your work area for the day’s events, ensuring that a well-stocked bar is always available with an adequate supply of liquor, beer, wine, mixers, ice, napkins, straws, glassware, fruit garnishes and other accessories to streamline drink preparation and inventory.
2. Ensuring that the bar, tables, chairs, and work area to cleaned to maintain a sanitary environment.
3. Follow the recipes and presentation specifications as dictated by the line managers and as written into drinks specification books.
4. It is imperative that Bar Staff comply with UK law, checking identification of customers to verify they are of legal drinking age where applicable. This also includes limiting customer problems by restricting alcohol intake and attempting to curtail inappropriate behaviour.
