We are looking for a number of Assembly Technicians for a 12-month contract based in Solihull on behalf of our globally respected client who develops cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe, and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs.
Job Description - The Role
The successful candidates will work as part of a team to contribute to our business objective of delivering hydro-mechanical assemblies & components on time to a high specification for the customer, whilst operating in accordance with safety requirements and established procedures. This role reports directly to Production Leaders for the facility.
You will have the ability to play an active role in continuous improvement within your cell, develop existing processes, and implement process improvements.
As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for:
1. Operating hand tools (fitting wire thread inserts, fitting lee plugs, fitting lee jets, torque wrenches).
2. Following standard operating procedures as required.
3. Quality checks on your own work to ensure it meets the required standards and completes the relevant documentation accordingly.
4. Raising Non-Conformance documentation and assisting the Team and Management in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
5. Maintaining all relevant operational control processes such as visual management boards and planning schedules.
What We Require from the Candidate:
1. Experience in manufacturing operations & production environment.
2. Good manual dexterity skills.
3. Able to work to technical instructions and adhere to fixed processes and quality standards.
4. Confident in interpreting engineering drawings.
5. Knowledge & experience of a wide range of inspection techniques.
6. IT Skills (MES/Microsoft applications/etc).
