We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Multi-Skilled Carpenter/Building Operative to join our Estates and Facilities team within Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of carpentry and maintenance tasks to ensure the safety, functionality, and aesthetic quality of our healthcare facilities. You will work collaboratively with other skilled trades and staff to provide a high standard of service to our patients and workforce.

Main duties of the job
To repair/replace/fit doors, door frames and the associated equipment such as locking mechanisms, handles, door closers and vision panels.
Fitting of rails, anti-bump barriers, cupboards and storage facilities as required.
To diagnose/repair reactive issues identified with roofing, building fabric and flooring.
Ensure that Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and associated work is implemented efficiently to specified requirements and aid with improving these requirements on a continuous basis.
To assist on the maintenance/repair of automatic doors where the fault is non-electrical.
To undertake light building maintenance works such as masonry repair, paving slab replacement and any other light building works deemed within the remit of the in-house maintenance team.
Through continued development and training, undertake the required training and qualifications to work on Fire Doors throughout the Trust sites.

Qualifications
* A carpentry background with an NVQ or City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Carpentry and/or a recognised City & Guilds Building qualification
* Ability to develop skillset to undertake light building works
* Knowledge of Health & Safety, to include Asbestos awareness
* Time served apprenticeship or equivalent
* Driving license
* A carpentry background with an NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Carpentry and/or a recognised City & Guilds Building qualification
* Computer literate - able to operate a computer
* Authorised Person status (Working at Height, Confined Spaces or Asbestos)
