Wastewater Approvals Technical Advisor
Developer Services is responsible for liaising with private developers and household customers in relation to the provision of new water and wastewater services. On an annual basis, NI Water receives c.350 applications for legislative agreements (Article 161) relating to the adoption of wastewater assets within Development Sites and c.310 application requests to build over or re-align existing sewers.
Reporting to the Wastewater Approvals Lead, the Wastewater Approvals Technical Advisor will apply a customer centric ethos to the timely processing of legislative agreements and will ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements.
The Wastewater Approvals Technical Advisor will be responsible for the processing of customer applications relating to Article 159 & Article 161 agreements, Build overs & Diversions whilst ensuring compliance with relevant customer Service Level Agreements

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
1. A 3rd level qualification, for example a Degree/HNC/HND or equivalent in a relevant mechanical, electrical or combined field of Engineering OR be a time served fitter or electrician.
2. A 3rd level qualification (e.g., HNC, Level 4 NVQ, higher apprenticeship / HND, Level 5 NVQ / Degree or equivalent) or working towards graduation within the next 24 months, in an Engineering, Surveying, Construction or Project Management related discipline and a minimum of 2 years’ experience working within the energy / utility sector (Water, Wastewater, gas, electricity).
3. Good communication and interpersonal skills with experience of dealing with customers/developers.
4. Proficient in the use of MS Office applications including Word and Excel.
5. Knowledge of the Sewers for Adoption Northern Ireland Specification.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
In the event of a large number of applications, in the first instance, candidates may be short-listed on the following desirable criteria:
