We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join the PowerNet Engineering - Fleet team. This is an on-site position with an option to be based in Invercargill, Balclutha, or Queenstown.
You will be responsible for assisting with the development of asset policies, standards, and strategies for the timely and efficient replacement or refurbishment of assets across all the managed networks. You will assist the Network Planning team in developing and implementing asset management plans. Providing engineering support in the design, procurement, and operation of our network equipment, you will be an integral part of PowerNet's Asset Management team.
About you:
1. Hold a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical)
2. At least 5 years’ experience in the electrical distribution, transmission, or generation industry
3. Excellent data analysis and report writing skills
4. Familiar with industry condition assessment techniques and an appreciation of emerging technologies to assist in determining asset condition
5. A great communicator with an ability to interact with Boards, Field staff, and Management
6. An ability to develop and present business cases in support of optimised investment
7. An enthusiastic team member with a desire for continuous improvement
8. An innovative thinker with strong problem-solving skills
9. Motivated to make a difference
