We are looking for an experienced professional to join our team on an interim basis, providing expertise and support in managing a range of domestic and non-domestic complex projects. This role requires the successful candidate to:
* Manage Caseloads & Enforcement Actions: Oversee a diverse range of development sites, including structures, ensuring all work complies with legislative requirements. Take enforcement action as necessary, including evaluating work and implementing remedial actions.
* Site Inspections & Dangerous Structures: Undertake site inspections, particularly in relation to dangerous structures, and take appropriate enforcement actions when required. Availability for out-of-hours work as part of a team rota is required.
* Staff Development & Support: Play a key role in mentoring and developing team members, particularly in technical matters. Provide educational tutorial-based assessments and manage the development of other staff to maintain high professional standards.
* Prepare Enforcement Cases: Prepare and present cases for enforcement or legal action, ensuring expert witness evidence is available when required to uphold compliance with technical standards.
* Provide Expert Advice: Offer advice and information to businesses and the public regarding legislative requirements for building safety. Support other Council professional services on a variety of topics such as thermal insulation, electrical vehicle charging, gigabit connectivity, and enhanced disabled access provisions.
* Presentations & Training: Prepare and deliver presentations relating to the Building Control unit's functional requirements. Provide educational tutorial-based assessments to team members, ensuring they are equipped to assess regulatory matters effectively.
