Job Title: Assistant Underwriter
Location: Bridgnorth, Shropshire.
Salary: circa £22,000
Following considerable growth, Provego Underwriting, an insurance underwriting company based in Bridgnorth, is looking for an assistant underwriter to join the team. This position is an ideal entry role for a recent graduate or college leaver looking to start a career in insurance.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an expanding business. In 2023, Provego Underwriting was shortlisted for the National Insurance Awards “Growth Company of the Year” award.
The successful candidate will be enrolled on the Chartered Insurance Institute’s Certificate in Insurance course. The study books and exams will be funded by the company, and gaining the qualification will be rewarded with a 5% salary increase. Completion of the course will be required in under 18 months.
Role:
1. Data entry of risk information.
2. Processing inceptions and renewals.
3. Processing policy adjustments.
4. Issuing documents.
Required skills:
1. Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
2. Detail-oriented.
3. Very organised.
4. Minimum of 6 GCSEs with minimum Bs or Grade 6 in English and Maths.
5. Committed to achieve the Certificate in Insurance within 18 months.
The role will be office-based initially, with the opportunity to work from home part of the week, once fully trained. The hours will be 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, with an hour for lunch (a 35 hour week).
The salary is circa £22,000, dependent on qualifications. This will increase by 5% upon completion of the Certificate in Insurance. There will be excellent career development opportunities.
