Are you looking for new role that will give you a genuine opportunity to develop your clinical, management and leadership skills? If so, we are looking for an excellent clinician who wishes to continue their clinical practice whilst also developing knowledge and skills in service development alongside the consultant psychologist in a genuinely friendly and supportive team. The post will be based in Ealing and is full time, although job share would be considered.
As well as clinical work with older people with a wide range of mental health problems you will be contributing to the development of the service which is relatively new. We are currently developing our psychology pathways including those for CEN where we are looking at innovative approaches. It is likely that how we provide psychology services will change over time as the service develops and we better understand the needs of our population.
Within the Ealing SOAMHS MDT you will have responsibility for the provision of psychological assessment and treatment to individuals with complex mental health needs who may also have co-existing physical and social needs. You will also help develop the team’s skills to increase understanding of the psychological needs of service users and their carers. This includes involvement with clinical trials adapting psychological approaches for older people. You will work with colleagues across local services advocating for both the role of psychology within the MDTs and the specific needs of older people with our community partners.
Outreach is an important part of this work and experience in this area would be welcomed. You will provide clinical and managerial supervision for junior psychology staff and deputise for the clinical psychology lead if requested.
