About Ramboll
Ramboll is a global architecture, engineering and consulting company with a mission to create sustainable societies where people and nature flourish.
Our foundation ownership ensures profits are reinvested back into the business, our people, research and education and humanitarian initiatives. The foundation was established to secure the long-term wellbeing of the company, its employees and the communities we serve.
We recognise that career paths are not always straightforward and that sometimes extremely talented individuals need a little extra help to get their career back on track. So whether you have taken time away from all work, find yourself working below your potential following a previous career break, or have taken a role outside your profession in pursuit of a better work-life balance, Ramboll has created new opportunities to help you re-establish your professional career.
About the programme
Our Career Comeback programme is a six-month paid placement designed to bring you up to speed with the current market. Based on your prior experience and current interests or ambitions, we’ll match you to a role within Ramboll and provide the additional support you need. Whilst there is no guarantee, it is the goal of the programme to secure a permanent position within Ramboll at the end of the six months. Opportunities are available on a part-time or full-time basis.
You will be supported at every step of the programme, from initial application through to completion. Our dedicated Comeback Consultant will be the first person you hear from. They will explore your background, role requirements and personalised support needs, with the aim of identifying a suitable role or team for you within Ramboll. The Comeback Consultant will then help you prepare for interview with the hiring manager in the appropriate department.
Additional support includes:
* Pre-commencement training prior to starting. This session is designed to equip you with the knowledge and insights to take control of your own success, preparing you for a confident first day and beyond.
* One-to-one coaching - Personalised support through three one-to-one coaching sessions with a specialist return to work coach.
* Buddy and internal mentor – To help you get settled and build your network, we’ll match you with both a buddy and an internal mentor.
* Comeback community – You’ll be warmly welcomed into the supportive community of current and previous returners from the past two years, who all remain with Ramboll and meet regularly to share and discuss their experiences.
To apply for the programme you will need to:
* Have taken a career break of at least 12+ months from the time of application or be working in a role below your potential
* Have a keen interest in reigniting your professional career
* Be able to undertake the role from early 2024 onwards (exact start can be agreed)
* Demonstrate previous experience in a similar field with the listed opportunity areas
* Provide evidence of right to work in the United Kingdom
* Be able to work 22.5-37.5 hours per week

Flexible, part-time and hybrid working at Ramboll
Opportunities are available on a full-time or part-time basis with lots of flexibility in when and where you work.
Informal flexible working is written into every employee contract from day one. This means that small and ad hoc variations to working patterns require nothing more than updating your availability. Most employees also choose to split their working week between home and the office. We’ll discuss and agree a working pattern and balance between home and the office that works for you and your role before you start, but you can agree adjustments with your line manager at any time.
Ramboll has offices across the UK within easy reach of public transport, including in Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Cardiff, Chester, Chippenham, Edinburgh, Exeter, Frome, Glasgow, Harwell, Leeds, London, Manchester, Newcastle and Southampton.
As a fixed-term employee, you will be eligible for all of Ramboll’s usual benefits, including:
* 27 days holiday per year + 8 days bank holiday (pro-rated for part-time roles)
* Private Medical Insurance
* Life assurance
* Income protection
You will also be able to opt in for flexible benefits such as the cycle to work scheme, discounted gym membership, dental insurance, critical illness cover, electric vehicle leasing and many others.
