An exciting nine month secondment opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 nurse to step into the role of Ward Manager on Curie Ward at Whipps Cross Hospital. This is a fantastic chance to gain leadership experience, develop management skills, and contribute to the ongoing success of a fast-paced, high-turnover ward.
About Curie Ward
Curie Ward is an acute Diabetes and Endocrine ward known for delivering exceptional patient-centred care. We work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for our patients. As part of our commitment to staff development, we are offering this secondment to help aspiring leaders grow in a supportive and challenging environment.
Main duties of the job
1. Works across acute Trust/CCG settings, as an expert in clinical field to deliver specialist clinical services to defined patient/client group.
2. Provides specialist, interdisciplinary education and training to other staff and students.
3. Works strategically to influence the development of the service both locally and nationally.
4. Leads clinical audits in own area.
5. Participates in/facilitates/undertakes research in specialist field.

Experience
* Relevant experience in Acute hospital setting.
* Relevant experience in acute hospital setting as Band 6 Nurse.
* Active participation in staff recruitment.
* Acute Medicine/(Diabetes/Endocrine) experience.
Skills

* Able to plan and prioritize own and others workload under pressure.
