Teaching Assistant – (PMLD)
Location: Edgware
Full or part-time position available, starting ASAP or during May Half term.
The School:
Supply Desk is pleased to be working with an outstanding-rated school in Edgware that provides a nurturing and inclusive environment for children. The school seeks a support staff member experienced or qualified to work with students with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD).
Responsibilities include:
1. Collaborating with teachers to create and deliver activities.
2. Developing holistic approaches to meet the needs of students with profound learning difficulties, implementing action plans and strategies to facilitate progress.
3. Supporting the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans, Behaviour Plans, Risk Assessments, and Personal and Therapy Care programs for designated groups.
4. Working with teachers, support staff, families, and external agencies to provide comprehensive support.
5. Establishing therapeutic relationships and interacting with students according to their individual needs.
Ideal candidate:
* Has previous experience working with SEN students or a strong desire to work with children with SEN.
* Possesses good knowledge of SEN and a passion for development.
* Can manage challenging behaviour effectively.
* Is available to work fixed days, full or part-time.
* Holds a valid DBS on the update service or is willing to obtain one.
* Has relevant training to support students with learning difficulties.
