Learning Support Assistant (Primary School)
Location: Sheffield
Pay Scale: £95- £105 per day
Start: September 2024
Contract: Part-Time/Full-Time
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm
GSL education’s South Yorkshire branch is looking for a dedicated individual to join as Learning Support Assistant in primary schools in Sheffield. This is a great opportunity for making a meaningful impact on young learners' lives.
Job summary:
In your role as a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to give students individualized support to help ensure each child attains his/her full potential. You will play a key role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-on-one and small group support to students as needed.
* Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons and activities.
* Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
* Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe and productive learning space.
* Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the class teacher.
* Assist with the preparation and organization of classroom materials and resources.
* Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent support for all students.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with primary school children is desirable.
* Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are preferred.
* Strong classroom management abilities.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
* An updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
