Are you currently working as a Manufacturing Engineer and have experience with machining? If so then this is a great opportunity to join the leading Helicopter Manufacture in Yeovil.
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to construct plans of manufacture and assembly sequences and processes in order to achieve the required standard, product quality, budget hours and delivery schedule (QCD). Alongside this, you will produce work instructions, Bills of Material, tools, and technical documentation to support the manufacturing process.
The role will include:
1. Creating Manufacturing Bills of Material (BOM) to define the materials or parts required for the manufacture of parts and assemblies.
2. Creating manufacturing routing, process sketches, and stage drawings to support the manufacturing process and identifying accurate specifications for material requirements.
3. Responsible and accountable for the accurate and timely availability of Work Instructions to support the Master Production Schedule (MPS).
4. Processing design changes and introducing them into the current WIP or assembly process.
5. Amending work instructions within the operational areas on the shop floor to rectify errors and keep manufacturing on schedule.
6. Representing Manufacturing Engineering in a Shop Support role.
7. Compiling SAP Production Orders to manufacture or rework components.
8. Maintenance of the Manufacturing Engineering routings and process documentation.
9. Responsible for identification and requesting of tooling, fixtures, and gauges required for manufacture and assemblies.
10. To provide estimates of production times to enable accurate capacity planning and cost estimating.
11. Plan activities, review, and report on progress and status of work to provide a clear statement of position, issues, and actions.
12. Support non-conformance reduction activities both internally and in the supply chain as needed.
In order to be considered for this position, you must be able to represent Manufacturing Engineering in a Shop Support role and have achieved at least HNC or equivalent in an Engineering discipline and/or a time-served apprenticeship. A working knowledge of manual machines and/or gears would be advantageous. CATIA/LEAN/5 Whys would be preferable but not essential.
This is an ongoing temporary position working at a 37-hour week Monday – Friday. The site benefits from free parking, onsite shops, and a canteen. This role can be flexible with a day working from home once training has been completed.
