Project Manager - Policy and Institutions Isle of Wight or remote UK, hybrid Institutions, governments and cities play a crucial role in creating and enabling conditions for a circular economy to emerge and thrive; they set direction, and they are drivers of innovation and investment. The circular economy provides a framework for governments and cities to realise many of their economic, environmental, and societal ambitions. Many different policy levers can be applied to accelerate the transition - from product policies that incentivise design for circularity, to laws aimed at regenerating ecosystems and bringing biodiversity back into urban environments. We are looking for an outstanding project manager to join our team to lead project planning, management and delivery of specific aspects (e.g. strategic initiatives, thought leadership or cooperation with external partners) within our Policy & Institutions team. With a global scope, this role will support the work that we do to drive the development and adoption of ambitious enabling circular economy policies amongst international institutions, national and city governments and ecosystem partners. You'll contribute policy expertise and insights, provide evidence-based advice, develop research approaches and tools to run initiatives, make connections with key organisations in the ecosystem, and facilitate knowledge exchange through workshops, online meetings, and events. Role and responsibilities Reporting to our Institutions Lead your role will cover: Project Management: Leading on specific projects and areas of work within the Policy & Institutions team, developing an approach (aligned with the EMF strategy), creating a plan, tracking progress against the plan and ensuring timely delivery (including management of a team where applicable). Relationship Management and Development Internal - Working with teams across the Foundation. External - Working with a wide range of stakeholders ranging from policymakers (international institutions, governments and cities), academics, NGOs, academics, companies, and philanthropists to drive progress towards a circular economy. Manage some key relationships and grow the EMF network under the leadership of our Institutions Lead. Representing the Foundation: Representing the Foundation at international meetings and events. This role will require regular international travel to events and to engage with regional and local stakeholders. Strategic thinking: Providing input to the development of the broader programme strategy of the Policy and Institutions team. Building relationships with organisations relevant to the strategic development of projects and initiatives. Your Profile: At least 5 years’ relevant work experience within a policy environment. We are unable to consider applicants with less than 5 years of relevant experience for this role. Experience in policy development, analysis, and/or implementation Experience of developing and managing projects to successful outcomes is essential, including managing relationships with a broad range of stakeholders (internally and externally), meeting time critical milestones, and strong project planning and project management skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with evidence of having written engaging documents. Analytical skills to structure and solve complex problems and to extract key insights from data, analysis and discussions with a broad spectrum of stakeholders. At least one language in addition to English is a definite plus in this role given the range of stakeholder engagement.
