St Lukes are recruiting Staff Nurses to join the nursing team on the in-patient unit. The IPU delivers palliative and end of life care for patients with complex palliative care needs. The IPU prides itself in the delivery of an exceptional standard of nursing care. As a result, the IPU enjoys a particularly good nurse to patient ratio to support that standard of care.
We would welcome applications from registered nurses with a passion for delivering quality, evidence-based care and a particular interest in palliative/end of life care. Post-registration experience in a variety of areas and a palliative care qualification would be an advantage/desirable, but not essential. Internal rotation to nights and weekends will be a requirement of the post.
In return, employment with St Lukes Hospice offers excellent opportunities to develop your skills, a challenging working environment, a supportive team and the chance to continue membership of the NHS Pension Scheme for existing members.
As a staff member of St Lukes, you will receive an attractive employment package, which includes 7 weeks annual leave rising with service (including bank holidays) and membership to a cash back health plan. St Lukes is committed to the development of its staff.
Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced clearance will be required for this post.

About us
St Lukes Hospice Plymouth is an independent charity providing specialist advice and support to people with progressive life-limiting illnesses in Plymouth, South West Devon and East Cornwall. We believe that everyone deserves quality end of life care, no matter where.
We work with our community, in partnership with others, to achieve dignity, comfort and choice for people affected by life-limiting illnesses through delivering and influencing exceptional care.
We value all our people - not only our specialist doctors, nurses and social workers, but also our colleagues behind the scenes, from our maintenance and catering staff to our fundraisers, administrators, educators and IT team. It takes a vast variety of skills, experience and knowledge to keep our vital service running smoothly.
As an Employer of Choice, we offer our staff a wide range of benefits and rewards, including generous annual leave and pension schemes, as well as a fantastic health scheme to help towards the cost of eye tests, dental care and physiotherapy. This gives you access to a GP, and counselling and practical information helplines, 24/7.
While working with our hospice is hugely rewarding, we recognise it's work that can be challenging emotionally. That's why, when you join us, we'll be here to support you all the way.
