Principal Designer & CDM Advisor – Construction / MEP
Nottingham and involves travel to various sites across the UK
Permanent – Salary based on experience
My client is seeking a confident individual with excellent communication skills, strong leadership capabilities, and experience in both professional and construction services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing CDM consultancy services to clients, supporting them in fulfilling their duties, which may include roles such as Principal Designer (PD), CDM Advisor (CDMA), or other related functions.
* Overseeing health and safety (H&S) for construction projects and programs, whether as a Site H&S Advisor or by developing and implementing project H&S strategies, policies, and processes.
* Conducting diagnostic reviews, audits, and gap analyses to assess H&S performance and management for client operations, projects, or supplier activities.
* Creating and implementing H&S continual improvement programs for clients, ensuring their successful delivery.
* Building strong relationships with clients to gain their trust and serve as a key communication point.
* Representing the company professionally and diligently, including participating in meetings, negotiations, and correspondence with client management teams.
* Identifying and developing new business opportunities and contributing to regional growth efforts.
* Collaborating effectively with colleagues to support team objectives, ensure project quality, and maintain consistency and profitability across shared projects.
* Maintaining and enhancing personal competence to meet client and business needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
* NEBOSH certification or an equivalent qualification.
* Professional accreditation from the APS (e.g., AaPS, IMaPS), with CMaPS preferred.
* Membership with IOSH, ideally at CertIOSH level (or TechIOSH if progressing toward CertIOSH).
* A design qualification is desirable.
