Main duties of the job
We have an exciting opportunity for Sisters / Charge Nurses to come and join our Respiratory specialty team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS). We have permanent Sister / Charge Nurse roles on the ward; D6 Respiratory.

What you'll do
You will be acting as a role model for nursing staff, encouraging effective working relationships and the development of a cohesive nursing team in the Respiratory department. You will be responsible for assisting the Senior Sister in the management of the Respiratory D5 ward for a 24-hour period ensuring high standards of care are maintained.

We are looking for individuals who are strong leaders that are highly motivated and have excellent communication skills. The sister/charge nurse role requires a close working relationship with the multi-professional team to ensure that evidenced-based quality care is delivered with compassion to every patient.
Person Specification
Qualifications, knowledge and experience
* Qualified Nurse (Degree/Diploma)
* Registered nurse on appropriate part of the register
* Significant post-registration experience / qualification / training, including experience and knowledge within relevant specialty
* Ward management experience
* Knowledge of current issues within acute Health Service
* Experience in an acute hospital setting
* Provide evidence of supporting / managing a range of learners in practice
* Provide evidence of supporting colleagues to promote effective learning in practice
* Ability to demonstrate clinical decision making and judgement
* Commitment to the post and Care Group responsibilities
* Commitment to continuing professional development
* Experience in handling adverse events and complaints
* Act in the role of Practice Assessor or supporting the progression of learners / supporting challenges as needed
* Some insight into budget management

Salary: £37,338 to £44,962 a year (Per Annum, Pro Rata)
