Binnies UK, part of the RSK Group, is recruiting talented engineers to join our growing Delivery business across the UK. Our teams consult, deliver, and manage critical human infrastructure projects in the Water and Wastewater industries both domestically and internationally. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging engineering projects within a collaborative and supportive team environment.
We are seeking Senior / Principal EICA Design Engineers
to work on both clean water and wastewater schemes, delivering engineering solutions from concept to detailed design for construction.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Leading teams of electrical engineers to produce clear engineering deliverables such as single line diagrams, cable block diagrams, control system architecture drawings, load schedules, MCC datasheets, equipment and material specifications, enquiry documentation, datasheets, schedules, and reports.
2. Serving as a technical specialist, providing expertise and knowledge.
3. Ensuring compliance with in-house procedural and quality systems.
4. Coordinating the development of multidisciplinary deliverables like P&IDs.
5. Managing design interfaces with other disciplines and integrating EICA design elements into the overall project design.
6. Collaborating closely with project teams, other engineering disciplines, project managers, estimating, site and commissioning teams, CAD, joint venture partners, and clients.
7. Undertaking technical bid assessments, subcontractor design reviews, and providing technical support on-site.
8. Providing technical guidance and supervision to project teams.
9. Undertaking supervisory responsibilities, including performance management and professional development support.
10. Managing budgets, schedules, and quality requirements for electrical teams.
Candidate Qualifications and Skills:
* Experience in designing clean water and wastewater systems, including equipment specification, electrical power systems, water treatment control systems, plant layout, and related areas.
* Knowledge of electrical power systems, water treatment control systems, integrated system design, manufacturing processes, testing, commissioning, procurement, codes and practices, CDM, environmental management, planning, and document control.
* Degree qualification in electrical engineering or a related field.
* Several years of relevant work experience.
* Enthusiasm, adaptability, and a drive to provide efficient engineering solutions.
* Self-motivated with the ability to lead teams and deliver projects on time and within budget.
* Excellent communication skills and high computer literacy.
* Professional qualifications such as IEng or CEng MIET.
* Leadership qualities that foster effective team building.
* Commitment to continuous improvement and mentoring others.
* A proactive approach to career development and industry knowledge updates.
