Description We are looking for Despatch Operatives to join our team on a part time basis. This is a key role as part of the site Logistics team. Providing a very important link between Traffic Planning, Yard Operations, Drivers, Sales and Sock Control. As part of this team the job holder should support the achievement of the departmental objectives and strive to improve customer service through the promotion of a right first-time philosophy. How will you contribute? To ensure the daily loading record sheet is completed each day. To ensure that paperwork for all drivers is administered correctly for all deliveries, collections, return to works and replenishments. To ensure all visiting drivers are aware of the site rules, traffic routes and are wearing the correct personal protective equipment. To acts as the first point of contact on site and with the Sales department to process queries. To report all missing stock items to the Yard Team Leader at time of loading and fill in discrepancy form for Stock Control department. To administer completed paperwork to relevant departments including loading and delivery notes to invoice management and RPL’s and RTW’s to Site Stock Controller. To maintain a high level of communication with loaders to ensure continuity of loading is maintained during breaks and shift changes. To ensures all loading notes are completed correctly by loaders to meet the requirements of the company quality systems to meet ISO 9001:2000. To ensure the department complies with EU Regulation 3821/85 for the completion of tachograph charts by administrating the issuing and collecting of data on a weekly basis from all HGV drivers. To ensure the department complies with Operator Licence requirements for daily defect reporting. What will you bring? Knowledge of Workplace Transport Safety Legislation, manual handling, safe working practices to maintain accreditation to OHSAS 18001. A good understanding of transport supervision and traffic planning. Good written, numerical and verbal communication skills. Good customer service and team working skills. Have a flexible approach to changes in working hours and shift changes sometimes at short notice to meet company requirements. Will actively participate in related company training schemes to improve personnel development so you can work in other areas of the business as required.
