More detail about the role OUT OF HOURS WARD CLERK NIGHTS ONLY Our admin team is made up of a Team Leader and there are 18 members of our friendly dedicated ward clerk admin staff and 4 patient flow coordinators. In addition, we have a team of Consultants, doctors as well as clinical nurse managers, nurses and patient flow coordinators. AMU deals with approximately 34,500 referrals per year and is an exciting and stimulating place to work. You will deal with referrals from the GPs, paramedics and ED, admitting patients onto the ward and dealing with their subsequent pathway through the hospital. You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a pleasant telephone manner. It is essential that you have the ability to interact with patients calmly, sensitively and efficiently both on the telephone and in person. You must be able to use your own initiative, prioritising your workload to meet the changing needs of the department, as AMU is a high pressure fast paced environment.
