Paediatric Specialist Diabetes Dietitian - Band 7 - Fixed Term Maternity Cover for 7 Months 0.7 WTE (26.25 hours)

We have an opportunity for you to join a friendly and supportive multi-disciplinary team (MDT) at the Doncaster and Bassetlaw hospitals in helping us deliver care for children and families with diabetes. The field of diabetes dietetics within the Paediatric setting is expanding rapidly, and this fixed-term post would allow opportunities to contribute to this service in the outpatient setting.
The role will ensure high-quality care working alongside Consultants and Paediatric specialist nurses as part of the diabetes MDT. You will also work alongside other specialist diabetes dietitians and will include a mix of MDT clinics, dietitian-led clinics, education for newly diagnosed patients, and pre-pump pathways.
This is an exciting opportunity to help us deliver the service in a novel and innovative way across all hospital sites.
Main Duties of the Job
1. To be responsible for the provision of highly specialised dietetic advice to paediatric patients with Type 1 diabetes requiring nutritional intervention.
2. To work as part of the wider multi-disciplinary team in the provision and development of the service, including the provision of protocols underpinned by the clinical governance framework.
3. To educate and train all levels of healthcare professionals and medical staff on paediatric nutrition and specialist areas within paediatrics.
4. To participate in student training.

Experience
* Post registration experience in paediatric diabetes.
* Clinical experience of working with a broad range of patients across a variety of settings.
* Understanding of professional ethics and application in practice.
* Evidence of ongoing CPD.
* Development and delivery of training programmes/nutritional initiatives.
* Experience of training dietetic students and assistants.
* Education and research skills.
Qualifications/Training
* Relevant post registration training in paediatrics or diabetes.
* Membership of the British Dietetic Association.
* Membership of relevant special interest groups.
Interpersonal Skills
* Ability to work to deadlines and use own initiative.
* Able to cope with difficult situations.
