Quality Control Technician
Salary: Base £25,052.04 + Shift Allowance £2,031.60 = Total Salary £27,083.64
Type: Permanent, Full-time
Shifts: (Weekly rotation) Mon-Fri 06:00-14:00, 14:00-22:00, 22:00-06:00 & 08:00-16:00 plus Sat 06:00-12:00 (1 in 4)
Location: Cotes Park Industrial Estate, Alfreton, Derbyshire, DE55 4PA
Position Summary
As a Quality Control Technician, you will conduct quality control activities to ensure materials are within the defined specification prior to use, and that finished products have been manufactured in line with the defined specification, prior to release to the customer.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct inspection, testing and retesting of raw materials (including process water), packaging components and finished packed products.
* Execute testing of blended formulation. Calculate batch adjustments and work with the R&D team to obtain concessions/re-processing instructions.
* Ensure that SAP usage decisions are made in a timely manner and that materials are available for manufacture.
* Collaborate with relevant team members to agree and facilitate the disposition of nonconforming materials.
* Carry out investigations and sample analysis in relation to customer complaints and queries.
* Supply certificates of analyses/conformity as requested by the customer.
* Perform analyses of samples collected for environmental monitoring, including water, dust and enzymes.
* Calibrate and verify equipment in line with the schedule.
* Manage retained and reference samples and reagents.
* Provide data for KPI reporting and improvement activities.
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
* Previous quality control experience in a manufacturing/production environment (Essential), preferably in the chemical industry (Desirable).
* Analytical thinker with the ability to make sound, risk-based decisions.
* Diligent, proactive and accountable individual.
* Strong collaborator.
