Job Description
To assist and support the Project/Site Manager in the efficient management of onsite activities to successfully complete the project in a safe manner, to cost, to the stipulated quality standards and to time in order to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.
Manage activities on site, ensuring that the highest standards of safety and quality are maintained at all times, in line with our operating processes, company policies and all legislative requirements.
• Responsible for ensuring the Project Delivery Plan is followed.
• Induct all employees on site on the United Way of working ensuring that the contract delivery processes are complied with and adopted into your daily disciplines.
• Undertake the induction of all employees and sub-contractors on site and follow up with toolbox talks.
• Be familiar with the construction drawings, Bills and specifications and ensuring that the works are executed in compliance with the documents and the product is as expected, including but not limited to completing snagging in line with agreed customer standards.
• Assist the Project/Site Manager in the management, co-ordination and supervision of operatives and subcontractors employed on the site
• Review and monitor progress against programme addressing any shortcomings and issues as they arise in conjunction with the Project/Site Manager.
• Assist the Project/Site Manager in the maintenance of site records and preparation of risk assessments, ensuring they are up to date and accurate and cover all activities on site.
• In conjunction with the Project/Site Manager, ensure that activities being undertaken are in conjunction with the programme and that stock control and on site storage is maintained so as to reduce waste and damage / theft of items.
• Liaise with the Quantity Surveyor in respect of Main Contract and Sub-contract valuations, change control and cost management
• Work collaboratively with the management team, the design team, Quantity Surveyor, Site Management and Resident Liaison Officers to ensure the smooth running of the site and tasks are undertaken in a timely manner in line with the programme requirements.
• Work closely with the commercial team to be aware of the financial position of the contract and raise any issues or concerns which may impact upon this.
• Ensure that records pertaining to requests for information, verbal instructions, delay and disruption are rigorously maintained in conjunction with the commercial team to ensure the company’s liabilities are protected.
• Deliver initiatives within the local community in support of the client’s strategic objectives and the Company CSR commitments.
• Any other duties reasonably assigned
Qualifications
• Previous experience within the construction industry would be desirable
• Minimum of 4 GCSEs Grade C or above to include Maths and English (both at Grade B)
• Construction related NVQ level 3
• Competent work organiser
• Financially aware, including being conscious of minimising costs and maximising income.
• High level of communication, demonstrating customer care and sensitivity
• Sound knowledge and compliance with health and safety requirements
• Work as a team member and comply with set objectives.
• Proficient in Microsoft office • Relevant CSCS card • SSSTS certificate
• Valid driving licence
Refurbishment: Temporary Works, SMSTS, Scaffold Inspection, Asbestos Awareness certificates required.
