Freelance Woven & Jersey Designer
We seek talented freelance designers specializing in woven and jersey to create trend-forward collections for contemporary markets.
Key Responsibilities
For Woven Designs:
1. Craft commercial-ready woven garments including shirts, blouses, and soft separates.
2. Develop technical CADs and comprehensive tech packs for sampling with our China production team.
3. Research emerging fabric innovations and silhouette trends in woven categories.
For Jersey Designs:
1. Design innovative circular knitwear pieces with understanding of various circle knit fabrics, including single jersey, double jersey, piqué, rib, terry, and fleece.
2. Create innovative designs across jerseywear categories such as tops, dresses, loungewear, athleisure, and layering pieces.
3. Research current market trends and emerging technologies in jersey wear to ensure collections remain competitive and cutting-edge.
4. Collaborate with merchandisers to source innovative knitted fabrics, ensuring quality standards and cost-efficiency.
5. Develop comprehensive tech packs with precise construction techniques specific to circle knit fabrics, overlock, flatlock, and coverstitch methods.
6. Develop original graphics and prints, and embroidery ideas with the latest trends in application.
Core Requirements:
1. Proven experience in either woven or jersey design with a portfolio showcasing your skills.
2. Strong understanding of woven or jersey materials and design processes.
3. A creative mindset with attention to detail and commercial awareness.
4. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
5. Flexibility to work on a freelance basis.
