Children and Young People's Services (BeeU) in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin are excited to advertise the role of Operational / Quality lead role in BeeU Children Health and Wellbeing services.
The Operational / Quality lead role for the BeeU Core Mental Health team within CAMHS, will manage the team providing support for Children and Young People 5-18 with a variety of mental health needs across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.
In the role you will have day to day responsibility for the operational management and delivery of the mental health services across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin. You will ensure that a high quality service is delivered within this area and that all National and Trust targets and standards are adhered to including the recording of information within the IT systems.
You will be responsible for the management of staff within the team, leadership, the delivery and delegation of management supervision and ensuring appropriate clinical / professional supervision takes place as per Trust Policy. In conjunction with the service lead and multi professional partners they will develop the provision and quality of services for patients. This is an exciting time for a passionate individual to influence and lead on change for the future in Children's mental health services in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.
This will demonstrably reflect the principles of clinical governance, clinical effectiveness, cost effectiveness as well as Trust and National Policy.
Main duties of the job
* To engage in and support the development of policies, procedures and working practices within the team.
* Work collaboratively with the Service Lead, and clinical team in the planning and delivery of the service.
* To ensure that all Trust policies and guidelines are adhered to and provide guidance to clinical staff regarding implementation.
* To support the local implementation/development of National strategies and to initiate change and practice development.
* To manage designated team
* Maintain the achievement of Key Performance Indicators and Quality Standards.
* Day to day line management responsibility for staff working within the service including management of sickness, performance, recruitment and appraisals.
* To promote, develop, implement and manage clinical standards and good practices within their sphere of responsibility.
* To be a visible, consistent presence in the multi-disciplinary team.
* To be open and accountable to service users and carers and to promote a positive approach to person centred care.
* To ensure the use of and adhere to the policies and processes.
* To ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are implemented.
* To contribute to the clinical delivery of the service.
* To provide appropriate advice to team staff, multi-disciplinary and Management Groups.
* To monitor and evaluate practice based on contemporary and current trends and initiate changes in the light of these findings.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
* First level professional nursing, midwifery or allied health professional with the appropriate governing body, such as the HCPC/BABCP/Social Work England/NMC/ etc.
* Educated to First Degree level or equivalent demonstrable knowledge and experience.
Experience Essential
* Evidence of improving service delivery in line with evidence-based practice
* Demonstrable experience of effective multi-disciplinary team working.
Skills Essential
* Comprehensive knowledge of relevant health and social care legislation and policy and challenges facing NHS providers
* Risk assessment / risk management knowledge and skills
* Management and supervision skills
* Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to demonstrate diplomacy, tact and negotiation skills
