Ad-Hoc Homeless Support Worker (Female Independent Living)
We are looking for a proactive, calm, and reliable Ad-Hoc Homeless Support Worker to join our team and provide support to women in need across 8 properties.This role focuses on supporting female clients who are dealing with a range of challenges, including mental health issues, domestic violence victims, care leavers, and those experiencing long-term homelessness.
About the Role:
As an Ad-Hoc Homeless Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping women navigate independent living, supporting them to build a stable, fulfilling life.You will offer emotional, practical, and sometimes crisis support to individuals who may have experienced trauma and complex life challenges.This role involves working flexibly across multiple properties, ensuring each client receives the tailored support they need.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide practical and emotional support to female residents, particularly those with mental health issues, domestic violence histories, or long-term homelessness.
* Assist clients in developing skills for independent living, including budgeting, cooking, and personal care.
* Offer crisis intervention when needed, remaining calm and compassionate in difficult situations.
* Work with each individual to develop support plans and provide ongoing monitoring and guidance.
* Maintain accurate records and liaise with other professionals involved in the care and support of clients.
* Ensure clients' safety and well-being while promoting their independence and confidence.
Shift Patterns:
* Days: 7:30 am - 7:30 pm
* Waking Nights: 7:30 pm - 7:30 am
* Flexible ad-hoc shifts across 8 properties.
Pay Rates:
* Days: £11.50 per hour + Holiday pay PAYE/£14.50 Umbrella
* Nights: £12.00 + Holiday pay PAYE/ £15.06 Umbrella
About You:
We are looking for someone who is:
* Proactive: Able to identify and address issues before they become problems, offering timely support to clients.
* Calm under pressure: Able to manage crisis situations with a clear mind and a compassionate approach.
* Reliable: A dependable team player who can be trusted to support clients and manage responsibilities.
* Experienced in working with vulnerable adults: Ideally, you will have experience supporting women with mental health issues, domestic violence backgrounds, and those in transition from care or long-term homelessness.
