Position: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Day rate: GBP425 : GBP475 per day, DOE

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join a tier 1 contractor on a GBP1.2b major railway project which covers the North East of England. The framework covers a range of railway related projects including stations, buildings and civils, electrification, power, signalling, telecommunications and track.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Manage a portfolio of contracts based on NEC3 forms of contract
* Responsible for the successful delivery of these contracts ensuring to achieve set margin target
* Liaise regularly with the client aiming to develop and maintain a good working relationship and resolve issues at the project team level
* Successful change management both at the Main Contract and Subcontract level
* Maintain cost control throughout the life of the contract and take proactive measures to maintain the desired balance between Value and Costs
* Analyse and report on costs, accruals and forecast costs using company accounting and commercial systems available
* Support in the tendering process by preparing subcontract enquiry documents, tender analysis and recommending the project team in the selection of the most suitable subcontractor/supplier
* Procurement of subcontractors and materials
* Subcontract management including drafting of the subcontracts, assessment of application for payments, change management etc.
* Supervising 2:3 junior commercial staff
