Welcome to Airmatic- We would love you to join us
We are a fast-growing engineering SME based in Northern England. We specialise in industrial ventilation and sheet metal fabrication. We are looking to expand our team with a proactive and results-driven Extraction Design & Project Engineer.
Location: Hybrid/WFH with semi-regular attendance at our Bury headquarters
Salary: £40k - £45k / per year, dependent on experience
Full UK driving licence required
Role Overview
Airmatic is seeking a self-motivated and experienced Design & Project Engineer to join our Ventilation Projects Team. This role involves the design, draughting, and project management of local and general exhaust ventilation (LEV/GEV) systems, seeing projects through from initial client consultation to installation and completion.
The position offers flexibility for remote or hybrid working, but semi-regular visits to our Bury headquarters and client sites will be required.
Key Responsibilities
* Conducting site visits to assess project requirements, take measurements, and design effective extraction solutions.
* Producing general assembly and component drawings for fabrication and installation teams.
* Managing the full project lifecycle, including planning, procurement, installation, and completion.
* Ensuring efficient coordination of invoicing, order placement, and engineer scheduling to meet project deadlines.
* Working closely with clients and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be customer-focused, solutions-oriented, and highly organised. The nature of on-site installations means that unexpected challenges can arise, so the ability to think on your feet and problem-solve under pressure is essential. Meeting project deadlines is critical, as operational shutdowns can be costly for our clients, and we strive to minimise disruptions.
This role is ideal for a confident, outgoing individual who thrives in a collaborative and client-facing environment.
While LEV/GEV experience is preferred, we are open to training the right candidate with relevant engineering and project management experience who is looking to transition into this field.

Relevant engineering background (mechanical, ventilation, or similar)
Experience in project management/engineering
