Job Title: Disrepair Building SurveyorLocation: YeovilHybrid: WorkingJob Purpose:The Disrepair Building Surveyor is responsible for managing and progressing repairs on disrepair claims through to completion. This role involves conducting pre-work surveys, reviewing expert reports, and creating job specifications for necessary repairs. The surveyor ensures that all work is completed in a timely and effective manner to prevent unnecessary financial loss and to maintain the quality of housing stock.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct pre-inspections and building surveys to identify defects and prepare detailed reports and specifications.
2. Review expert reports and disrepair letters of claim.
3. Create job specifications using Schedule of Rates (SOR) codes for repairs to be carried out by contractors.
4. Monitor and liaise with repair contractors to ensure timely and effective completion of works.
5. Provide technical expertise and advice to staff and stakeholders regarding cost-effective repairs and maintenance.
6. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including Section 11 and Environmental Protection Act claims.
7. Conduct post-inspections to ensure the quality and completeness of repair works.
