About the Company
Due to company growth, our client, a well-known name in the construction industry, is looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager with a strong background in building and construction or quarries, based in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.
Standard work hours: Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm. Site-based with site travel, as required.

Health & Safety Manager – Requirements
1. NEBOSH Construction
2. Proven track record in a similar role in the construction industry or quarries
3. Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
4. Full UK Driving licence
5. Previous experience with change management
6. Membership of a professional body – beneficial
7. Environmental management qualification/experience - beneficial
Health & Safety Manager – Responsibilities
1. Develop, maintain and monitor the implementation of good H&S across the company and all its activities.
2. Provide competent H&S advice and support to all levels of the company from the Senior Management Team to individual employees.
3. Champion safety on all levels.
4. Prepare and deliver training to employees e.g. inductions, toolbox talks, safety campaigns and bulletins.
5. Carry out site audits and inspections across static sites in the Group and at customer’s construction and demolition sites.
6. Collate, analyse and report on Health and Safety matters for the Board, managers and supervisors and maintain KPIs (AFR/AIR, Near Misses etc).
7. Carry out and support accident investigation and analysis through to root cause and corrective actions and reporting.
8. Ensure that suitable and sufficient risk assessments and method statements are in place for all company activities, making recommendations for improvement and ensuring implementation.
9. Carry out Fire Risk Assessments and provide fire safety management advice.
10. Provide advice on COSHH assessments.
11. Raise and close out Improvements Logs and Non-Conformance Reports to support the company’s business management system and ISO 45001.
12. Contribute to the development and maintenance of the H&S department management system and the company’s H&S strategy.
13. Assist in the preparation of Construction Phase Plans and advise on requirements under CDM regulations.
14. Management of Occupational Health monitoring.
15. SSIP, Supplier Questionnaire and PQQ completion support.
