Cook / Chef de Partie who is looking to move away from late nights and long hours in the kitchen to an extremely rewarding role, preparing traditional home-cooked fare and catering for the nutritional needs of older people.
Our Cook / Chef de Partie plays an important role in the team at Poynder Apartments in Kelso, Eildon’s Extra Care Housing (ECH) service for older people which opened in August. Eildon is one of the largest providers of housing and support services to older people in the Scottish Borders and everyone plays an important role in making sure that our services improve the lives of our tenants.
The Cook / Chef de Partie is responsible for the preparation and production of a varied and nutritious meal plan for tenants and customers. Along with this you will assist with the supply chain process within budgetary constraints whilst adhering to Eildon’s Food Safety Management system. You should be qualified to SVQ level 2 in food preparation or similar and ideally hold REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene certification.
You will assume line management responsibilities for the Catering Assistants within the team and ensure the provision of excellent customer service. You will need to have an interest in people, along with a positive can-do attitude, a willingness to learn, and the ability to multitask. Most importantly you should be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of Eildon’s vision and values.
