- 2 days a week in-house 3 days will be remote Location : Brussels City Travel : Occasionally in Belgium Context Thus banking client is currently seeking a contract UX Researcher who is a native Dutch or French speaker.
This role is within the UX Research team, part of the Concept & UX Design Chapter.
You will work alongside Concept and UX/UI Designers, Product Owners, and Business Analysts, contributing to the Easy Banking channels on both web and mobile for residential and professional clients, as well as internal employee tools.
Strong stakeholder management skills will be key to your success in this role.
Role Description As a UX Researcher, your responsibility will be to support the projects with high-quality user research throughout the design process, from discovery to evaluation.
Typical Activities: For strategic projects with an embedded research track: You will collaborate with the core team from the outset, helping to define and shape the research strategy.
Manage the research intake : Define user research needs, prepare research plans, and collaborate with recruitment agencies if needed.
You'll also evaluate test material, perform dry runs, and manage logistics for testing locations.
Conduct user interviews/tests : Primarily qualitative user research (e.g., user interviews), though other methods may also be used.
You will also manage the presence of observers during these sessions.
Debrief and communicate results : Analyze research insights, draw conclusions, and make actionable recommendations.
Prepare a detailed test report and present findings to stakeholders in a clear, concise manner.
Ensure usability of insights : Organize, manage, and archive research files and reports to ensure the insights can be used both short and long-term.
Qualifications & Experience Education: Bachelor's/Master's degree or equivalent professional experience Relevant studies in fields like psychology, sociology, anthropology, Human-Centered Design, or product design Languages: Dutch or French (native) : Essential for conducting interviews, preparing test material, and client communication English (fluent) : Required for reporting, stakeholder communication, and general collaboration Required Experience & Knowledge: 3-5 years of relevant experience in UX research, with a focus on qualitative methods Technical Skills : Experience with a variety of user research methods, such as user testing, card sorting, diary studies, etc.
Strong analytical skills: Ability to interpret data and present it in a clear, understandable format, tailored to the level of detail required by stakeholders Preferred Experience: Experience working within an Agile environment Familiarity with unmoderated testing techniques is a plus Experience in a banking environment is essential.
