Main purpose of the role
:
Senior Carers ensure that supervisions are completed in a timely and effective manner. Medication audits are carried out on a regular basis. Liaising with the care coordinators to identify gaps in rotas to ensure runs are covered. Working with the care coordinators to complete general audits to keep the service in line with CQC.
Support team of care support workers and mobile breakdown care support worker when required to meet the personal / domestic care needs of service users across the service during periods of care support worker absence.
Core responsibilities of the role will be:
A Senior Carer will provide reliable support to community-based Care Support Workers:
Complete audits of service provision to identify deficiencies, including completing medication audits, care record audits.
Promote Compassionate, good, care practice, maintaining service users dignity and independence.
Mentor new care support workers, completing community observations of their work and providing support and guidance during their first 12 weeks.
Contribute to the monitoring, evaluation, and review of services.
Complete work-based supervisions with care support workers.
Work in partnership with other teams to ensure that concerns or changes to care need are responded to appropriately and in a timely way.
Develop positive relationships with service users and their family members, providing reassurance and information to new users of the service.
Continuity of Service:
Provide care to service users allocated to you during your shift by the office teams.
A Senior Carer will work effectively with office teams to reduce impact of service breakdown in individual service users / their family members.
Communicate effectively with office teams.
Providing care and support to individuals in line with their person-centred care plan, respecting their individuality, cultural, spiritual, and religious needs.
Providing care and support in line with risk assessments and health and safety procedures.
On occasions, Senior Carers will provide direct personal care in accordance with the individuals
Work with other health and social care professional involved in the individuals care to ensure needs are effectively met and changes to need are responded to.
Maintain detailed and accurate records of care; including arrival and departure times, care provided, concerns or changes.
Follow Local Solutions policies and procedures in relation to accessing service users properties and reporting no-access or non-engagement.
General Skills and Experience:
Level 3 qualification health and social care or willingness to work towards.
Experience in social care setting.
Full drivers license and use of private vehicle for work use.
Enhanced DBS check.
Comfortable using smart phone / apps.
