As an IT Finance Manager, you will report to the Head of IT Financial Management within the Office of the CIO (OCIO). You will manage a small team to ensure Computacenter’s internal IT department offers value for money, maintains cost transparency, and has adequate financial controls. You'll support decision-making, identify financial risks, and suggest corrective measures.
What you’ll do
1. Working with Product Owners and Finance, ensure unit charge rates for IT services and products consumption are accurate, and published in line with business timescales.
2. Ensure that individual PnLs are in line with forecasts, investigate underlying causes of any variances.
3. Develop and maintain comprehensive reports on key Financial & Performance KPIs, ensuring they are benchmarked against industry standards.
4. Processing of monthly internal cross-charges (chargeback of IT costs), managing any queries and disputes.
5. Seek out potential opportunities to optimise cost and reduce waste, whilst not compromising value and quality.
Technology Business Management Framework Ownership (30%)
1. Lead the implementation of the TBM framework, including defining cost pools, allocating IT costs, and establishing metrics for evaluating IT performance and value.
2. Maintain roadmap of future capability, data sources and enhancements, to continue to evolve the function and increase value to the business.
3. Evangelise best practices through collaboration, creating collateral, and providing training where appropriate.
4. Lead and mentor a team of TBM professionals, providing guidance and support as needed.
5. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment to encourage professional growth and development.
Partnership (10%)
1. Close co-operation with Finance Business Partners.
2. Support IT budget owners to understand their current and future costs. Promote a cost-conscious culture.
3. Support Strategic Business Partners to ensure business stakeholders are provided with transparency into IT costs and consumption.
4. Use dashboards and reports to communicate IT costs and performance metrics to all stakeholders.
What you’ll need
1. At least 5 years experience in Finance related roles, including relevant qualifications (e.g. CIMA, ACCA).
2. Experience of IT Financial Management and certification in Technology Business Management (TBM) would be an advantage.
3. Capable of analysing and interpreting Profit and Loss statements.
4. Experience of creating cost allocation models and internal charging.
5. Team leadership experience.
6. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and develop practical solutions.
7. Effective communications skills, able to convey complex concepts in simple, easy to understand language.
8. Advanced ability in Excel.
9. A proactive and confident individual who is results orientated.
10. Experience in developing KPIs and scorecards based on internal and industry benchmarks.
