The Company:
A dynamic Construction Consultancy is seeking Quantity Surveyors at various levels - QS, Senior QS, and Associate - to support major projects in the Power and Energy sector in Scotland and across the UK. Bandings (dependant on location/ experience) - Quantity Surveyor (£45k - £65k), Senior Quantity Surveyor (£52k - £78k) and Associate (£72k - £88k)
Responsibilities
Quantity Surveyor
* Deliver accurate project cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting.
* Administer contracts in alignment with project objectives and governance policies.
* Proactively manage cost variances, cash flow, and valuations.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure programme performance, cost control, and value engineering objectives are met.
* Assist with procurement and tender evaluations.
Senior Quantity Surveyor
* Lead commissions and oversee cost management delivery.
* Manage contract change processes and ensure compliance with governance and best practices.
* Provide commercial guidance to clients and stakeholders.
* Drive improvements in budgeting, forecasting, and cost reporting accuracy.
* Support the professional development of junior team members.
Associate
* Take a leadership role in delivering high-value commissions, often large or complex.
* Act as the key client interface, building strong relationships and ensuring client objectives are met.
* Lead teams to deliver quality services on time and within budget.
* Oversee the full procurement process, including contract negotiation.
* Promote innovation and efficiency within the consultancy and for client projects.
Qualifications
* Professional Memberships: Ideally MRICS, MCIPS, or working towards similar.
* Contract Knowledge: Strong understanding of NEC3/4 contracts (Option C preferred).
* Sector Experience: Proven track record in Power, Energy, High Voltage, Transmission, or Renewables however other similar sector would also be considered (as long as you have experience using NEC Contracts).
* Extensive leadership experience in cost/commercial management.
* Comfort with complex project delivery and client-facing responsibilities.
