TPS Business Development Manager - Covering East Midlands
Who are TPS?
TPS provides independent garages and bodyshops with high-quality Genuine Parts and products necessary for servicing and repairing Volkswagen Group vehicles. As part of the Volkswagen Group, TPS operates a national network of TPS Centres, employing a 1,500-strong workforce. Launched in 2006, TPS operates on an Agency Model, allowing Centres to stock and sell on behalf of Volkswagen Group UK. TPS has experienced rapid growth in both financial performance and the number of Centres nationwide.
What will you be doing?
Reporting to the TPS Area Sales Manager, the Business Development Manager (BDM) will work across multiple TPS Centres to achieve sales targets and cultivate a loyal customer base. Delivering an exceptional customer experience is essential, as is becoming a brand and product expert.
Sales
1. Collaborate with the ASM and TPS Centre Managers to create and implement a sales strategy that consistently increases sales revenues from mechanical customers while maintaining loyalty.
2. Achieve target KPIs and revenue objectives within your territory for key mechanical customers.
3. Identify, secure, and develop new customer accounts within your territory.
4. Support and monitor marketing initiatives, promotions, and campaigns targeting customer sets.
5. Present and report on sales and marketing performance.
6. Utilize market data to understand potential sales opportunities within your customer base and territory.
7. Ensure adequate training on the Unique Selling Proposition of the TPS brand and product range, particularly the genuine vs. non-genuine aspects, to effectively overcome sales objections.
8. Manage time effectively to maximize opportunities from customer visits.
9. Work with TPS Centre colleagues to leverage customer visits and call objectives.
Stakeholder Management
1. Keep key stakeholders updated on sales performance through formal and informal presentations.
2. Manage support from business investor partners and TPS investors to meet targets and objectives.
3. Collaborate with ASM and CMs to contribute to Business Improvement Plans.
Customer Experience
1. Manage and maintain relationships with all customers.
2. Provide high-level customer service that reflects the image and reputation of TPS.
What are we looking for?
1. Ability to engage and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
2. Proven experience in creating strategies and managing activities to grow business.
3. Practical business financial awareness to provide valuable input and identify areas of risk and opportunity.
4. Experience in managing national campaigns and activities.
5. Aptitude for leading and motivating a team to achieve business targets in a B2B or automotive environment.
6. Thorough understanding of core processes necessary for delivering centre excellence.
7. High degree of IT literacy.
8. Minimum GCSE in Maths and English Language or equivalent.

We continue to grow and evolve, currently operating over 83 TPS Centres throughout the UK.
