Environmental Manager - HMP Glasgow Project
Building in an environmentally considerate way is a key focus for Kier. Environmental management is a vital role within our teams, and we have an excellent opportunity for an Environmental Manager to join our flagship HMP Glasgow project.
Location: Glasgow, Scotland
Contract: Permanent, full-time (flexibility can be considered; simply outline in your application)
What will you be responsible for?
As an Environmental Manager at Kier working on HMP Glasgow, you will manage the environmental advisor resource to meet the needs of a large, high-value project. You will lead the team to provide specialist environmental and sustainability advice to support pre-construction and construction teams in developing and delivering a modern custodial facility.
Your day-to-day may include, but is not limited to:
* Managing Environmental Advisors to ensure adequate resource allocation, quality of work, and timely completion against the project programme.
* Reviewing pre-construction information to evaluate environmental sustainability risks and opportunities.
* Collaborating with pre-construction and project teams to deliver sustainable outcomes and manage environmental risks.
* Identifying and working with competent consultants/service providers of environmental sustainability services.
* Supporting the project team in obtaining authorisations, permits, licences, and engaging with regulatory bodies.
* Supporting the delivery of BREEAM, DREAM, and CEEQUAL projects.
Who are we looking for?
* Experience in a similar managerial role within construction or civil engineering.
* Proficiency in MS Office and knowledge of sustainability schemes such as BREEAM, DREAM, CEEQUAL.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to manage multiple workloads concurrently.
* Clear written and spoken instruction skills for internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications and Certifications
* Relevant qualification in environmental management (Degree or equivalent).
* CSCS Card.
* Full UK Driving License.
