Job Description Your New Role Highways Maintenance Operative a to join o Northern Irelandur accountLurgani inNorthern Ireland. Our account is working in partnership with Lagan Construction since 2007. We are responsible for the overall operations and maintenance including but not limited to emergency response, winter gritting and street lighting inspection and mainten nance. We maintain 125km of road network in Northern Ireland as well as building 40km of new road we ensure our roads and highways are well-maintained through all-weather seasons and the build of new roads to support and link commu unities. The aim of this strategy was to make Northern Ireland a better place to 'live, work, learn a Highway Maintenance Operatives and grow'. plays an important part in the installation of temporary traffic management and all aspects of highway maintenance works and play a vital part in Operations, this role will also include Road Safety Improvement & Active Travel schemes, civils works, drainage works, road gritting, maintenance works, routine cyclic You will we responsible for: Undertaking all aspects of highway maintenance works including routine and cyclic maintenance activities, civils' works & drainage works. Drive/operate vehicles including HGV/Small & Large plant ensuring vehicle checks, routing maintenance and cleaning is carried out. Winter Maintenance - including emergency call out and standby. Keep records, including drivers' hours and any paperwork necessary. The safety of yourself and others within your team, ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and safe operation to protect member of the public. Carrying out vehicle checks prior to shift starting, correctly filling in defect books. Attending project and work briefings as required. Keeping records, completing all necessary paperwork, communicating, and liaising with other employees of Amey, sub-contractors, the emergency services, the police, the general public, clients and customers. We want to hear from you if you have: Previous experience in a similar roles such as groundworks, civils, plant operations & HGV driving is preferred. Problem solving skills Self-motivated and pro-active in terms of delivering solutions Good communication skills a valid HGV Class 2 licence.
