Brook Street is currently recruiting for an Accounts Technician/Part-qualified Technician/Bookkeeper position at an established accountancy practice in Newry .
This full-time role reports to the Senior Manager and offers flexible working hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Position : Accounts Technician/Part-qualified Technician/Bookkeeper
Responsibilities :
1. Manage a variety of accounting tasks including bookkeeping, invoices, budgets, and tax returns.
2. Assist in the preparation of financial accounts and other administrative tasks.
3. Process and pay purchase invoices, record receipts and payments.
4. Prepare and check monthly and year-end accounts.
5. Complete and submit basic tax returns, including self-assessment and VAT.
6. Handle company expenses and assist with payroll systems.
7. Perform bank reconciliations and use computerised accounting systems and software.
8. Collaborate with team members and senior managers to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Requirements :
9. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
10. Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
11. Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
12. Technical proficiency with accounting software packages (Sage, Xero, QuickBooks) and MS Office, especially Excel.
13. Previous experience in a finance support role is beneficial.
