As the Senior Site Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of site operations, including groundworks, civil engineering works, and infrastructure installation. You will manage day-to-day site activities, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. In this leadership role, you will be directly responsible for the safety, quality, and progress of the site, and will collaborate with the project team, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure project success. Key Responsibilities: Site Management: Take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the site, including groundworks, civil engineering tasks, and site logistics. Team Leadership: Lead and manage site teams, including subcontractors, labourers, and site operatives, ensuring they work efficiently, safely, and to high standards. Quality Control: Oversee the delivery of groundworks and civils packages to ensure they meet project specifications and comply with industry standards. Health & Safety: Ensure that all activities on-site adhere to the highest health and safety standards, conducting regular site inspections and risk assessments. Client & Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the main point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, providing regular progress updates and managing expectations. Programme & Budget Management: Ensure projects are delivered within the agreed timeline and budget, managing any delays or cost overruns effectively. Reporting: Produce daily, weekly, and monthly reports on site progress, safety issues, and other key metrics. Problem Solving: Resolve any issues that arise on-site, from technical challenges to personnel matters, ensuring minimal disruption to project schedules. Qualifications & Skills: Extensive experience as a Senior Site Manager within the groundworks and civil engineering sectors (minimum of 5 years). Proven experience in managing large commercial/industrial groundworks and civils packages from start to finish. Strong knowledge of groundworks, drainage, foundations, concrete works, and other civil engineering elements. Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams. In-depth understanding of site health, safety, and environmental regulations (SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid, etc.). Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. A background in working with sub-contractors, managing contracts, and ensuring quality control on-site. HND, Degree, or relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred). Proficient in using project management software and tools to track site progress and report to stakeholders.
