An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Residential Conveyancer to join a reputable firm in Leighton Buzzard. The firm is well-regarded for offering specialist legal services across various areas, and they are looking for an experienced Conveyancer to join their established team. This role involves managing a varied caseload of residential property transactions, including sales, purchases, transfers of equity, and more. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of a team leader while ensuring high standards of client care and efficient file management. Key Responsibilities: Sale Transactions : Drafting contract packs, dealing with enquiries raised by the Buyer’s solicitors, and preparing files for the exchange of contracts. Handling pre-completion and post-completion tasks, including obtaining redemption statements and preparing completion statements. Purchase Transactions : Requisitioning searches, reviewing titles, and raising enquiries on the contract papers. Preparing contract reports and files for exchange. Managing all aspects of pre-completion and post-completion matters, including registration formalities. Transfer of Equity : Drafting TR1 forms, managing registration formalities, and liaising with lenders when required. Client Correspondence : Communicating with clients and all parties involved in each transaction, via phone, email, or face-to-face. File Management : Day-to-day progression and management of caseloads, ensuring all documentation and processes are handled efficiently. Team Collaboration : Assisting other fee earners with specific tasks and projects, when necessary, to support the smooth running of the department. Compliance : Adhering to the firm's policies, procedures, and compliance standards, including those relating to anti-money laundering, IT use, client care, and health & safety. Additional Tasks : Performing other reasonable duties as required by the business. Skills & Competencies: Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and case management systems. Exceptional organisational and time management abilities. Capable of working independently and managing competing priorities. High level of attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks. Excellent interpersonal skills, with confidence in communicating with clients and other professionals. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications & Experience: At least 4 years’ experience in a residential conveyancing role, managing a caseload independently. Comprehensive knowledge of the conveyancing process, including sales, purchases, and transfers of equity. A Solicitor or CILEX qualification (4 years PQE). Experience with case management systems and an understanding of office protocols.
