About Thomas
Thomas is 46 and lives in his own home in Peacehaven. Thomas has a great sense of humour and needs staff that can get to know him and build positive relationships. Thomas has a diagnosis of autism, a mild learning disability, and epilepsy, and requires a team that understands autism and its impact.
He has an active lifestyle and loves going cycling, walking and learning new skills. Thomas also has a car and enjoys going out for drives. Thomas is adjusting well to his new home and community life, making choices at his own pace. Thomas is funny, has a great memory and is a good mimic, he loves watching sport and TV programmes, and listening to music from his radio. He likes homecooked food, meeting new people, looking nice and being treated with kindness and care. Thomas is devoted to his family and is enjoying spending quality time with them.
About you
We are looking for a dedicated, reliable, and compassionate individual with excellent communication skills and a great sense of humour. You will:
• Be patient, understanding, and confident
• Have the ability to adapt your communication to meet Thomas’s needs
• Be willing to understand Thomas’s complex history and a be committed to seeing him as an individual
• Be caring empathetic and open-minded
• Above all, you will want to help Thomas to live the life he chooses, the way he chooses.
Full training will be provided through Seco Supports induction programme and online learning.
Full referencing and a full enhanced check of the Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) will be required for this position.
