Belcan Workforce Solutions have joined forces with a global provider of technologies and services that advance and accelerate the development and manufacture of therapeutics. They are currently seeking a Product Engineer to join them on a 6-month contract in Ilfracombe.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for mechanical engineering and validating new tooling and processes, developing existing equipment, and writing robust validation documents.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Product Engineer you will report to the NPI Manager ensuring work packages are completed in line with detailed plans to improve processes and equipment performance. You will:
* Develop and validate new tooling and processes.
* Write and execute validation protocols (FAT, IQ, OQ, PQ).
* Provide progress reports and organise development and qualification batches.
* Liaise with suppliers of materials and equipment.
* Participate in focus team meetings and present manufacturing details.
* Solve problems using Six Sigma tools, trend analysis, and process risk assessments.
* Control and retain all Manufacturing Design Documents.
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety practices.
Qualifications and Skills:
To be successful in this position you will need a formal Engineering Qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) with relevant mechanical tooling experience. Alongside this you will possess knowledge of tool and equipment design, polymer welding technology, and process validation procedures.
* Competent in Microsoft Office applications; knowledge of Minitab and SAP is an advantage.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Experience in machine and tooling design, and validation within the medical device or Bio-Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Industry.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally.
