Purpose:
As a key member of the Development team the Project Development Manager will be responsible for:
Overseeing the permitting process of large-scale solar projects from inception through to readiness for construction.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in planning and development, with a specific focus on navigating the complex permitting requirements in rural settings in the UK. Experience within the renewable energy sector or with solar developments are desirable, but not essential.
This position reports to the Chief Commercial Officer.
Responsibilities we will trust you with:
* Managing the development of projects in all the aspects with various local stakeholders;
* Launch monitoring studies;
* Coordinate all the parties involved in the projects (consultants, advisors, local authorities, grid companies, suppliers, etc.);
* Liaise with spatial planners, technical and environmental experts and prepare all permitting applications;
* Manage the permitting process with the relevant authorities;
* Lead the submission of offers in the case of public or private tenders;
* Manage pre-construction tasks closely with risk assessments, procurement tender preparation, support to EPC negotiations and draft of technical and commercial appendices.
Your areas of knowledge and expertise:
* Degree qualified in a relevant subject;
* 5+ years of work experience in planning, either preparing and submitting applications or within a planning office;
* Experience with project management in renewable projects or telecom, power lines, or other public or private infrastructures;
* Experience with solar power projects;
* Strong motivation to work in a complex environment : you are organized, open-minded and able to work independently; you are capable of working on several projects in parallel;
* Solid analytical skills, strong adaptability, efficiency;
* Social skills, excellent oral and written expression;
* Integrity, ethical standards and sound judgement;
* Leadership and team spirit;
* Intellectual curiosity, passion and self-motivation;
* Driving license (frequent travelling will be required).
