We are looking for educators with personal or professional experience supporting young people with the following needs: Profound and multiple learning difficulty, Severe learning difficulty, Physical and sensory needs, cognitive needs and communication needs.
The school caters for learners aged 4 – 19 and requires teaching assistants to work with them on a full-time basis, Monday – Friday during term time, to start as soon as possible. The position requires you to be on your feet and alert throughout the day, great news for anyone looking to get their steps in!
Role and Responsibilities:
* Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN.
* Assist the teaching staff in the implementation of Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs).
* Support with Midday supervisory needs, which will include supervising students during meals and outside playtime.
Requirements:
* Prior experience supporting children or adults with additional needs. References required.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
* Passion for supporting SEN children and young people.
* Ability to use your initiative to support students and colleagues.
* Enthusiasm and resilience are a must; a sense of fun will help build relationships with students and colleagues alike.
