CTO required to join an ambitious scale-up in West London. A fintech business that has a platform connecting organisations seeking investment to the institutions that will fund them. They have just gone through a further round of funding and have some of the biggest financial institutions in the city as investors, looking to drive significant growth in the business.
The company has a 20-person development function in Eastern Europe, and as part of the next phase of development, they want to bring on board a strategic (but still hands-on!) CTO who can help lead the business through this next phase. This will be the organisation’s first CTO, and the primary function will be to support the founders in all things technical to take the business to the next phase.
The short-term goal is to assess the capability of the present technology team and make the appropriate changes to ensure they are fit for the future, along with a significantly larger development workload. Longer term, it’s all about adding new functionality to the present platform to enable them to provide a full spectrum product to the market.
The requirement is for a combination of strategist, pragmatist, and people manager, and there will be a need to ‘wear many hats’ given the stage of the business. Someone with some exposure to capital markets would be useful, but it is not a prerequisite for the role. Experience working within a business building a client-facing application and managing a data science function is essential as this forms part of the present team.
