An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to be appointed as a band 5 on our elective surgery units on the East Coast. We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills who is able to adapt and work closely with a team.
Duties will be varied and will include admissions, pre and post theatre care and prompt yet safe discharge. The majority of procedures are day cases; however, a small number are for overnight admissions, and as we are dealing with high waiting lists and backlog, the unit at Scarborough may look to offer some overnight services.
We are looking to employ an enthusiastic and dynamic Band 5 to complement our existing team. Our ward consists of 11 individual patient rooms, plus an admission room which allows us to use our unit rooms more than once a day. The elective surgical units support a wide variety of surgical disciplines including general surgery, urology, ENT, max-fax, orthopaedic trauma, and gynaecology and work closely with the surgical teams, anaesthetic teams, theatres, and Maple ward.
You must have good organisational skills, be self-motivated, and flexible. You will be expected to promote the trust values and strive to be the best in all areas of practice.
