Role Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity for a QA Manager to take ownership of the Quality Assurance department, ensuring compliance with industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. The role involves maintaining ISO certification, material quality control, and technical compliance, while also working closely with customers and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
* ISO Compliance & Certification – Maintain and manage ISO procedures and certification, ensuring ongoing compliance with international quality standards.
* Material Quality Control – Oversee quality approvals for incoming and outgoing materials, ensuring they meet required specifications.
* Technical Appraisals – Review and assess client project specifications, ensuring technical requirements are met.
* Specification Development – Adapt and refine ordering specifications to align with evolving customer and industry needs.
* Inspection & Testing Plans (ITPs) – Develop and implement project-specific ITPs, ensuring all quality checkpoints are met.
* Client Audits & Inspections – Host customer onsite audits and regular client inspection visits, demonstrating compliance and best practices.
* Non-Conformity Management – Identify, investigate, and resolve technical and quality-related non-conformities, implementing corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ideal Candidate:
* Qualifications in Quality Assurance (QA), Metallurgy, or a related technical field (preferred but not essential).
* Experience within the steel industry or a related manufacturing sector.
* Strong knowledge of ISO standards, quality management systems, and compliance processes.
* Ability to liaise effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
* Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to drive continuous improvement.
