Hours: 37 hours per week, term time + training days
Salary: Band E SCP 18 - 25 £30,559 – £35,235 per annum pro rata (£27,385 - £31,847 per annum)

We are looking for a Lead Cover Supervisor to organise the required cover for absent teaching staff on a daily basis.
Main Responsibilities
1.To be responsible for the day to day management of daily staff cover for teachers and other support staff as required by the Principal/SLT Line Manager, to ensure classes/lessons are covered when teachers are absent from school.
2.To supervise whole classes during the short-term and long-term absence of teachers.
3.To line-manage the Cover Supervisor team.
4.To secure supply staff as/when required.
Duties and responsibilities: Cover Management
•Organise required cover for absent teaching staff on a daily basis, including arranging for high quality cover of supply staff from agencies when required and ensuring a process for meeting and greeting supply teachers, ensuring the school has their clearance details.
•Provide supply teachers with adequate support/training on the day, including the school’s behaviour management practice and making sure they are aware of the school’s safeguarding practice including how and to who to report a concern.
•Organise cover staff effectively to minimise the impact of absence on teaching staff, thereby improving teaching and learning within the school.
•Ensure that all materials necessary to enable the smooth running of a cover lesson are provided by 8.15 each morning, including cover sheets, tutor registration sheets, cover work, seating plans, stationery and other instructions, as appropriate.
•To produce a termly cover analysis report for the Principal.
•Liaise with Subject Leaders and Heads of Year regarding student behaviour and cover work issues raised by cover supervisors or supply teachers.
•Oversee induction of newly appointed Cover supervisors and Supply staff, ensure they are fully briefed on school policies and procedures, health & safety factors and principles of classroom & behaviour management.
•Produce and arrange distribution of the daily cover sheet.
•To undertake the role of cover supervisor.
•To manage all room changes daily.
•Deal with cover arrangements for last minute emergencies e.g. a member of staff being taken ill.
•Authorise timesheets for external teachers and approve the invoices.
•Help to plan cover for larger scale events e.g. sports day, activities day
•To keep the SLT Link/Principal appraised at all times of any concerns regarding daily cover or supply personnel.
